Who enjoys stripping at JF Kennedy anyways!?
Nothing new, things on social media do usually get hairy but the whole UAE dress code topic is getting out of its zone. From an innocent call for modesty to violent responses and lots of dogs and cats fights, who to blame? I would say every ignorant national and expatriate living in the UAE. Both parties are somehow failing to handle the dress code dilemma properly and insisting to act childishly about it.
Okay its time to let it all out. Not sure if you’ve noticed here and there, but for some crazy reason a good % of expatriates are deliberately ignoring “cultural sensitivities” in the Emirates. I use the word “deliberately” because majority of them have been warned about certain facts concerning the UAE traditions, nature of dress code, common values, religion and practices, etc. Ironically many seem not to give a fly about the dos and donts, and sadly are being casual about some rules and regulations or possibly acting naive.
Come on, we all at a point of time saw this loose skin TOPLESS white woman happily sunbathing at Jumeirah beach park. I’m sorry but why do we need to deal with such horrific scenes? Flashing your ( ) ( Continue reading…
Why I’m Single
She’s big personality, confident, successful, ambitious, educated, I believe fairly good looking, etc … But yeah why?!
Is it too late? Hell no
I honestly believe that labeling a single woman who’s in her late 20s or 30s as a spinster is no longer relevant. Am I single by choice? I’d say absolutely yes. In any case, this piece of thought is general and not specifically about me. Trust me, there are thousands of Emarati women out there who have decided to wisely wait and not ride the first train stop. Ironically, as women i.e. not the alpha male , we have been taught from a very young age that once the train passes by, you either jump or kiss it goodbye. Not to forget, our eggs are wasted and yeah we’ll no longer be fertile. Exactly, women in the Arab world are pressurized by a brutally judgmental society to marry, produce few dozens, nurture till death knocks their doors.
What I find extremely bizarre is the way that our society keeps promoting a very outdated rationale about why women aren’t getting married as quickly as they used to do. Here is the magic word and obviously Continue reading…
I die for the uae to live
In the memory of an unarmed warrior.. prophetic spirit and devoted nationalist. In the memory of a contender.. peacemaker and a nature protector. In the memory of an eternal stream of wisdom.. immortal human being. In the memory of a heavy weight legacy.. champion and everything good possible. In the memory of my father, the father of the nation, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan. I thank him for today, yesterday and everyday. I thank him for being around in every corner, every street, school, hospital and home. I thank him for December 2nd and memories to come!
Zayed’s physical departure still aches every palm, raindrop.. It aches the hearts of the heavens and the worlds. Emaraties refuse to goodbye Zayed. I refuse. Goodbye Zayed is impossible, how is it possible when everybody sees him in Khalifa?
Today we are living Sheikh Khalifa’s success stories. If I pause for a minute and gaze at neighboring countries, every inch of me realizes how blessed I am to be identified as nothing but an Emarati. Being an Emarati doesn’t mean loads of profit free cash, bling bling and mansions. It means being sincerely looked after in every way possible.
The UAE’s horizontal leadership spirit provides the nation with Continue reading…
WANT A BETTER FNC? VOTE FOR NASSER!
Dear future Federal National Council members, if you are anything like some of our ex members, I highly recommend you a quick fix, attitude lift up , hmm maybe try pills for effective communication skills. Seriously you have up to what, Dhs 2.mil to spend on your campaigns? Some of you should have better considered a pre fix plan before actually thinking of any FNC seat. Although the seat will not grant you any legislative or executive authority, being a member in the UAE FNC is one huge honorable responsibility.
Oh boy, the toughest job that any would ever want to take on NOW is representing people. People in our region no longer need to hit mental puberty to talk rights, issues or politics. So average citizens let’s bring it on, roll and let’s talk candidates. 2011 Federal National Council candidates have a very interesting mix of profiles. With full honesty, I find the entry criterion very modest. Competing candidates are coming in different sizes and hold different backgrounds, from fashion designers, media personalities to WEF-Davos speakers. That’s what I call the X Factor, bless!
Some candidates like Mr. Nasser H. Al Shaikh (@NAlShaikh) are pretty much known and sincerely respected among nationals. But some big Continue reading…
Bloody VIMTO CULTURE!
First comes first, Vimto isn’t Saudi. Its BLOODY ENGLISH!
Our Nido culture has once again transformed into a pro Vimto culture. Ironically this transformation takes place every year ” to be specific only in Ramadan ” and it ends with its departure! Ramadan is the holiest month in the Islamic calendar and we all know that it might end today or tomorrow. Congratulations to those who’ve managed to evaluate their errors, forgive and form a fresh connection with God. Have you done any good? any? at all?
Although Satan and his kids are temporary resorting in hell, many Muslims have failed to capitalize on the holiness of Ramadan. Many have decided “maybe” unconsciously to turn every day to a fat greasy festive, smoke shisha, drink tons of Vimto and watch TV endlessly. As a matter of fact you’ll be surprised to know that people have different types of addiction in Ramadan. Some are Vimtoholic, others are Tangholic or Halimaholic. I haven’t seen her on TV this year. I guess viewers and specifically men don’t prefer a prego so it was the time of Meryam Faris who btw scared the hell out of my poor soul, oh you know what I’m talking about!
Frankly I Continue reading…
IS GAY FASHION?
Its usually hard to spot out a gay female in our society, but how on earth will you ever miss the guy with the dirtiest cat walk ever? No matter how many times I personally try to master it, I simply fail. As a matter of fact gay guys run that department, so ladies competition is invalid.
On a global scale, discussing homosexuality is a big deal, something like the holocaust. You need to be mentally sober i.e. plan your words before you speak or else you’re labeled as a hater.
Let’s take 1 step back, people discuss, trash and mock everything, like how chubby isn’t sexy, color people are less intelligent or how westerns bathe less than any other race. You know the usual stereotypes! But, whenever you crack a joke or tweet about a gay related incident, you receive 1 common message “Oh you’re a homophobic”. Excuse me, I’m not… I have my personal views and I joke about gay people not because I look down at them, but just because they’re part of my society. Frankly, i’m always dazzled by their fine eyebrows, eye makeup and OF COURSE handsome boyfriends who are publicly straight and happily married.
I’m afraid, its Continue reading…
